Where to Celebrate the Luck o' the Irish Around Northeast Ohio

St. Patrick's Day Events - Northeast Ohio - Cutler Real Estate

Whether you're Irish or just Irish for a day, St. Patrick's Day is a huge holiday in Northeast Ohio. You'll find one of the country's largest St. Paddy's Day parades here, as well as pub crawls and even a sober gathering.

If you're planning to celebrate the holiday with some green beer or other adult beverages, make sure you've planned ahead for a safe ride home. Install Lyft and Uber apps on your phone in advance, and also consider public transportation. Cleveland's RTA, for example, typically offers all-day passes for St. Patrick's Day that you can buy on your smartphone.

Get in on the fun and celebrate the luck o' the Irish around Northeast Ohio. Check out the following events.

Starts on Superior Ave. at E. 18th St. and ends at the intersection of Rockwell Ave. and Ontario St.

Cleveland has hosted a St. Patrick's Day Parade for 175 years, and the tradition continues in 2020. This year's theme is Ireland's Scenic Coastlines, so you'll see that some of the floats have incorporated this theme. Line up early so you can get a good view of the bands, floats, dancing groups, and much more as they wind their way through downtown Cleveland in one of the country's largest parades.

Shamrock Parade Shuttle and Dinner

Brennan's Party Center, 1300 Triskett Road, Cleveland, OH
March 17, shuttle leaves Brennan's at noon

Make transportation to the parade easy on yourself by taking a shuttle from Brennan's and then keep the fun going by returning on the shuttle at 3:30. You'll be able to enjoy Irish dancers, DJ, and an open bar while you treat yourself to a corned beef buffet — a perfect way to celebrate the day! A children's buffet is also available at a reduced price for kids under age 12.

Crawl with Us Pub Crawl

Cleveland Pub Crawl - Cutler Real Estate

Pub crawls are a popular St. Patrick's Day activity, so gather some friends and try the Crawl with Us Public Crawl. You'll be able to visit eight popular venues, enjoy exclusive drink specials and two complimentary drinks/items, and try some food deals along the way. Save some energy for the after-party starting at 10 p.m. and make sure you're dressed up for St. Paddy's Day to compete in a costume contest with a $500 prize.

Get your Irish on early and get some exercise by running a 5K. You'll head through some of Cleveland's trendiest areas, including the Historic Warehouse District and over the Detroit-Superior Bridge. And since it's a St. Patrick's Day race, you'll also have some special perks! You'll get one Jameson shot or one Coors Light, drink specials at designated West 6th Street bars and be able to participate in a costume content throughout the event. Post-race food and refreshments are also offered.

The AOH hosts a day of Irish-themed fun, complete with dancers and other entertainment. And if you think you may have some talent of your own, two open mic sessions are open during the day if you'd like to try to sing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" or another favorite.

8 Essential St. Patrick's Day Events in the Columbus Area

Whether you're ready or not, St. Patrick's Day is upon us once again. Our favorite Irish holiday always brings with it plenty of fun and festivities, so naturally, we rounded up several ways to celebrate! Our lovely city of Columbus and the surrounding communities are full of Irish spirit, so it's no surprise to us that the area is bursting with St. Patrick's Day events. From parades to pub crawls, we've found the best ways to enjoy the holiday. Have fun experiencing the luck of the Irish to the absolute fullest — and don't forget to wear green!  

St. Patrick's Day Trolley Cruise

Where: North High Brewing When: March 11-17 Grab your green drinks and step aboard this unique trolley for a day of Irish fun. Short North Trolley Company will take you on a journey through Columbus, stopping at several iconic bars and pubs along the way. For a more private event, you can rent the whole trolley just for yourself and some friends — giving you the chance to choose your own route through the Columbus area.  

St. Patty's Cocktails, Cookies & Candles

Where: The Candle Lab When: March 14, 6-8 p.m. Columbus St. Patrick's Day Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Watershed, Cookie Lady Columbus and the Candle Lab for a night of cocktail mixing, cooking making and candle pouring! Start by pouring your own custom-scented 8-ounce candle, using St. Patrick's Day-inspired scents sure to get you in the spring spirit. Then, enjoy Irish themed cocktails and decorate cookies! You won't want to miss this night of Irish cheer and hands-on creativity.  

2019 Irish Whiskey Tasting

Where: Serendipity Labs When: March 14, 6-9 p.m. What better way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day than by tasting Irish whiskey? At this special tasting event, you'll get to try five different Irish whiskeys alongside fellow Columbus whiskey lovers. Food is welcome, so feel free to bring a picnic or your favorite take out with you!    

St. Patrick's Day Party 2019

Where: Flannagan's When: March 16, Doors open at 8 a.m. Head over to Flannagan's in Dublin for the largest St. Patrick's Day party in Ohio. Don't miss this famous parade that will include marching bands, bagpipers, giant inflatables, leprechauns and so much more!  

Social City's 9th Annual St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl

Where: Arena District When: March 16, 12-9 p.m. During the 2019 St. Patrick's Day weekend, join over 4,000 crawlers in the largest pub crawl in Ohio! Attendees will receive a t-shirt, beverage koozie, exclusive food and drink specials, free cover charges and so much more.  

Shamrock Club St. Patrick's Day Parade

Where: Broad Street When: March 17, 12:15 p.m. Don't miss the extravagant floats, marchers and balloons on display at the Shamrock Club's 2019 St. Patrick's Day Parade. Run by the largest Irish organization in Central Ohio, this Irish-spirit fueled event is always a good time.  

St. Patrick's Day Show

Where: The Three-Legged Mare When: March 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m. St Patrick's Day Irish Pubs Join local Celtic rock and roll band, Discarded Mischief in celebrating St. Patrick's Day at the Three-Legged Mare. Enjoy pub songs with a new twist along with Irish drink specials for a whole lot of fun this holiday.

Where to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the Akron & Canton Area

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and there are a plethora of places where you can (and should!) celebrate. After you head downtown to watch Akron's famous St. Patrick's Day Parade, visit one of the area's many fantastic Irish pubs to get you in the St. Paddy's Day spirit! We've rounded up our favorite Irish spots in the area, from hole-in-the-wall bars to upscale restaurants. No matter where you decide to celebrate, we promise you'll have a grand time — but don't forget to wear green!  

Barley House | Akron

Akron Burgers

The Barley House is an Akron staple that invites you to sit long, talk much and laugh often. They offer over 30 beers on tap at any given time along with the friendliest staff in town. Stop in for their annual St. Patrick's Day celebration or any day of the week to catch the game on one of their many TVs.

T.J. Dillon's Pub | Massillon

This neighborhood favorite has been located in Massillon for over 26 years. They offer great food, service and even live music from time to time. No matter whether you're a local or not, you'll still feel welcome at this cozy pub!

Irish Jack's Pub | Akron

Irish Jack's is North Hill's only Irish pub, serving drinks until 1 a.m. (or until everyone goes home) Tuesday-Friday. Here, you'll find good food, drinks and even Irish dance classes! If you need somewhere to throw your Irish celebration, Irish Jack's also rents out their Brendan Hall — which is the perfect venue for almost any occasion.

Arnie's Public House | Akron

Arnie's Public House is more than just a bar — it also happens to be one of the best eateries in Akron! They offer incredible classics like steaks and burgers along with out-of-the-box selections like chicken and waffles and sweet potato tacos. Plus, the amazing service will have you coming back again and again.

Harmon's Pub | Canton
