The Red Stable has a history as colorful as its eye-catching exterior. Built in 1872, the building has served as a horse livery, wagon repair shop, ice storage facility, and auto garage over the years. In the late 1950s, when a group formed to save the German Village neighborhood from demolition, local artist Phil Keintz transformed the Red Stable into a custom art studio and gift shop featuring the works of his fellow artists. Phil's tradition continues today, as more than 100 local artists showcase their work inside the historic building. 9 Holiday Arts + Craft Shows in Cincinnati Happening This Year

With the holidays fast approaching, it's easy to run into the nearest department store for last minute holiday shopping or to get free two-day shipping from Amazon Prime. But what if we told you there was a way you could spend the day at a fun event, eat great food, all while perusing art and handmade gifts from local artisans in one central location? This season, Cincinnati will play host to several fantastic holiday arts and craft shows where you can not only check off everyone on your shopping list — you can also support local artists! We've curated a list of the winter-themed arts and craft shows that we are the most excited for this year. Grab your bags and get ready to #ShopLocal!  

Kindervelt Krafts

Where: Findlay Market When: December 8, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Arts and Crafts Shows in Cincinnati Kick off your holiday shopping at the last Kindervelt Krafts markets of 2018. Vendors will be selling handcrafted Christmas decor alongside a great assortment of wonderful gifts. All proceeds from the event help support the Cincinnati Children's Hospital and improve the lives of ill children.  

Delhi Township Holiday Market

Where: Delhi Township Administration When: December 8, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The Delhi Township Holiday Market is returning this year with even more local vendors and crafters offering a wide variety of homemade crafts, home goods, candles, soaps, baked goods and more! Admission is free, so all you need to do is bring your holiday shopping list.  

Market BLEU | Winter Quarter

Where: Contemporary Arts Center When: December 8, 6-10 p.m. Market Bleu is a quarterly event that features handcrafted products and fine arts — so you can find that perfect gift for your loved one! Come out and enjoy a drink while perusing local artisans showcasing and selling their work in the gorgeous Contemporary Arts Center in downtown Cincinnati.  

Ohio Explored Holiday Maker Mart

Where: Urban Artifact When: December 8-9, 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Holiday Arts and Crafts Cincinnati

Over 90 vendors will be at the Ohio Explored Holiday Maker Mart this year. This unique market will showcase makers off all different types selling modern, minimalist home decor, jewelry, clothing, candles, woodwork, ceramics and more!  

The Maker's Mart

Where: The Phoenix When: December 9, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. This eclectic shopping experience will feature handmade goods, art and artisanal food products made by independent crafters, artists, makers and artisans. Some of the 40+ vendors will feature Maker's Mark Whisky focused and inspired products for sale as well!  

Christmas in Mt. Healthy 2018

Where: Multiple Locations Around Mt. Healthy December 15, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Why not celebrate the holidays and support local artists in Mt. Healthy this season? This city-wide event will offer fun for the whole family, with tons of choices for shopping, crafts, music, food and fun. Check out their interactive map so you can plan out your itinerary!  

City Flea Holiday Market

Where: Washington Park When: December 15, 4-9 p.m. Arts and Craft Shows in Ohio

Since it's conception in 2011, The City Flea has hundreds of vendors to satisfy the needs of their Ohio and Kentucky shoppers. They also pride themselves on helping vendors grow from hobbies to full-time businesses. This season, they'll be featuring local makers from vintage dealers to artisan pizza makers — promising something for everyone!  

2018 Cincinnati Winter Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show

Where: Oasis Golf Club & Conference Center When: December 16, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show is perfect for those looking for a one-stop-shop for all of their holiday gifts. Here, they'll be featuring vendors of all kinds and will even have a concession stand on site so you don't even have to leave for lunch! A portion of the profits will go to Happen Inc. that promotes bonding experiences between parents and kids through art.  

Art on Vine Holiday Gift Sale

Where: Rhinegeist When: December 16, 12-6 p.m. Arts and Craft Shows Ohio

Art on Vine evolved from a college project created by James Jenkins and started as an eight vendor market settled on Vine Street. Now, the event features more than 70 vendors and fills Rhinegeist Brewery. For a unique, fun, one-on-one art buying experience, you won't want to miss this one!
